One month old

Image
On September 18, you turned one month old. That month has completely flown by. There were days in the hospital that felt like they would never end. However, now that you are home, we want time to slow down. You are doing really well! You are eating about 3 ounces every 3 hours and sleeping pretty well at night. You sleep from about 10-1, eat a bottle, sleep until about 4 and take another bottle. At one month old your likes are: car rides, your paci (most of the time), being held, dance parties with sissy, sleeping on mommy's chest, and eating! Your dislikes are: baths and getting dressed.  You weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces which is a lot from your birth weight of 4 pounds 10 ounces. Here you are at one month old and as happy as can be:

After 3 weeks in the NICU, you finally got to come home on September 8th. We were all so excited to welcome you home, but your big sister was especially excited since she wasn't allowed to come into the NICU to see you. You have completed our family so perfectly and it is so great to all be together under one roof! Big sis holding you for the first time! Grandmommy was excited you were home too! Maddy, Grandmommy and Grandaddy decorated for your arrival. Your going home outfit and the first time we got to dress you in your own clothes and without your monitors attached. Your cool ride out of the hospital!

Here's the story of your arrival.  I developed something called preecplampsia during the last stages of pregnancy and my body basically started shutting down. The doctors tried home bed rest, but my blood pressure kept going up and I was seeing spots and had terrible headaches that made them fear I would have a seizure or a stroke. Therefore, they put me in the hospital with IV medicines to help keep those things from happening and tried to hold off as long as possible. We made it to 35 weeks and they could no longer regulate my blood pressure, so it was decided they would induce me. However, you decided to flip breech(you were a gymnast in my belly!) so they took you by c-section at 9:20 am on 8/18/17.  You were still fiv...
