“ We’re Marrying”

 You have been talking for weeks about marrying a girl named Landon at your school. You even had me write up invitations to send to people. We laughed it off and thought it was cute hearing you talk about it, but then you kept on and on and on. We hit last week and you were convinced that Friday was the day. You fluctuated the story between it happening at school and happening at 6:30 at Landon's house. You told us that Landon's mom was supplying all the food but you were bringing the decorations. You cracked us up with all the details you talked about this week, but as the week went on we got a little worried about your expectations. We tried to talk to you about how this was just something fun and creative to talk about but that you were too young to actually get married. Nope. You wouldn't hear it. We tried again and again and you kept telling us you were marrying her on Friday. When I dropped you at school on Friday, I warned the teachers that you might have a melt down as you thought this was really happening today. At pick up, they let me know that you were indeed unhappy when they also told you that you are too young and there would be no real wedding. You and Landon held hands on the playground and told them that you would be getting married anyways. Ha! Ms. Pat, who is the sweetest woman ever and loves you dearly, told you that you needed to go to school, get a job and then worry about getting married. You did not like this and wouldn't look at her or talk to her for two days! Ms. Charlese finally convinced you to love your mommy for now and that you could get married later on when you're older. You listened intently and nodded and hugged me, but as soon as we got in the car you said "I'm still going to marry Landon." I give up! One day when we are planning your wedding, we might look back on this and laugh. Or, you might be marrying Landon and we will tell this story at the rehearsal dinner. LOL! Either way, we know you will be a great husband as you clearly love strong and are extremely devoted!
