5 years old!!! (way late on this catch up)
You turned five this year, and we can't believe it! You started Kindergarten on your birthday, so we opted to wait and have your party in September so you would know some of your new friends in your class and could invite them to your party. We had a great time at the splash pad with sweet friends. However, your teacher was moved to a new school and the friends at your party and you were all separated into new classes. Luckily, your new teacher is amazing and you are doing well!!
You love Kindergarten and after school safari and come home a happy, sweaty mess each day! You want to look "handsome" by wearing dress pants and dress shirts every day (no matter how hot it is outside) and you won't listen to us that you look handsome no matter what!
You are starting to read and it's fun watching you sound out words and discover the things around you. You continue to live in your own world with sounds, imaginative stories and games, etc. You also continue to amaze us with your dance moves and ability to model choreography that you see on movies. We definitely think you'll be a performer one day!
School has been good except for when you ratted yourself out for having to sit on the carpet and go to recess late (you were talking in line). We had you write a letter of apology to your teacher and she laughed and told us that you hadn't actually been in trouble. Turns out, you were telling us what WOULD happen if you talked in line. LOL. Also, you got slapped by your friend at after school safari. Apparently, you were playing a game where someone pretends to be asleep and the other kids try to wake that person up. Your friend took it a little bit too seriously. When you told us the story, you cracked us up by saying "I came into the game late and didn't hear the rules. If I knew the rules of slapping I wouldn't have played that game. Next time I won't play a game if I don't hear the rules." Cutest logic ever!
We had fun at the fair recently, well at least for a little while. You rode some rides and then started getting fussy and said you were tired. You fell asleep on dad, and when you woke up you had a high fever and were sick for several days. Poor thing!!
We had a great Halloween last week; you picked to be a ninja and looked so cute. We got to go to a Halloween party, trunk or treat and trick or treating in our neighborhood.
You make us proud and happy every day! Here are some pics from the last couple of months:
