Catch up post Andrew

Catch up Post Andrew

Time has slipped away but only because we’ve been having so much fun. I have not posted in a very long time, so I am going to do a quick catch up post and then hope to stay more up to date moving forward.

We spent Fall break at Legoland in Florida with Grandmommy and Grandaddy and had a blast. The rides were a little too small for Maddy and a little too big for you, but everyone was still able to find something they loved. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the time!

You had a great start at your new school! I can’t believe you are in the first grade! Your teacher double checked the records that were sent from your old school and retested you, but they were right. She just couldn’t believe how advanced you are, but we weren’t surprised. At your conference this year we were told that you are also a good classmate, a helper and a good listener. We are so very proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do in the future!

Thanksgiving was fun this year. We made the trek to Michigan for Uncle Chris to host and enjoyed hanging out with family, a yummy meal, and a hockey game. It was so fun to see all the cousins spending time together!!

Christmas was a whirlwind. We started the season with The Living Christmas Story at church and you had us in stitches with your narrative as a villager. You told anyone that would listen that the evil Roman Soldiers killed your dad and that’s why your mom and you were making pottery to stay alive. We were dying laughing! We then had a fun time with Grandmommy and Grandaddy doing fun things like visiting the state museum (at your request) and seeing the lights at the zoo and Saluda Shoals! Christmas Eve was spent at church and then over at Uncle Mitch and Aunt Staceys and then the day after Christmas Uncle Rob came since he had the flu on Christmas. Your gifts from Santa this year were a trombone, a set to make forts and an air hockey table. Dad and I were so pleased to see your general enthusiasm and excitement for each part of the season (not just opening the presents). You also were so excited to see what everyone else got and give the presents you picked out at your school store! It was magical and Jesus was the main focus and we are so thankful for your heart!

Taekwondo continues to go well for you. You recently did your first test and are now a white belt with a yellow stripe. You focus in class and try your best to do what coach Alex asks of you and we are proud of you!
